A decision for Heathrow is a decision for..........

This image is one of five created for Heathrow Airport, part of a visual campaign supporting its expansion and the promise of new opportunities across service industries. The brief: depict Great Britain, its contours and topography, through the sculptural arrangement of flight crates.I designed six distinct crate models, each with seven post-production variations/seeds, resulting in over 40 unique cases. Graphics were layered in to introduce randomness and texture.

The final landmass, representing England, Scotland, Wales and Northen Ireland is composed of 253 individual elements. Each was built on a separate layer, allowing full control during composition and enabling the creation of ‘Transvisions’, a modular, multi-layered interpretation of national identity through industrial form.
